In 2003 an Australia Council mentorship awarded to Veronica made it possible
for her to study Shibori and indigo dyeing techniques with Janice Heitbaum a
textile artist from Victoria. The three months mentorship and studio exploratory
work practice culminated in her 'Change of HeART' exhibition in Darwin that was
a showcase of a new body of work.
From 2005-15 Veronica was the art facilitator at Darwin Correctional Centre. The
annual exhibition ‘Behind the Wire’ integrated into the Darwin Festival, showcased
artwork created by prisoners enrolled in education. With Veronica’s tuition and
guidance, their art including painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, prints and
textiles was impressive.
Veronica's work continues to evolve and now encompasses many textile
techniques with a current emphasis on the use of batik as a resist medium.
